On Monday March 15th 2010 at 10:15 am. Niagara Regional Police responded to a hold up alarm at the Scotia Bank located at 327 Ontario St. in the city of St. Catharines. Uniform officers immediately responded and once on scene discovered that a lone male suspect had just robbed the bank and fled on foot prior to police arrival. Police and a  K-9 officer attended the area and conducted an extensive search, however, the suspect was not located. Investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the bank and waited in line before being served by a bank employee. Upon attending the customer service counter the suspect handed the bank employee a note demanding money. Once receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot. No weapons were displayed by the suspect who is described as a white male, twenty five years of age, 5' 8"; approximately 200 lbs, with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded style zip-up sweater, a light coloured baseball cap with a distinctive pattern and dark sunglasses. No members of the public or bank employees were physically harmed as a result of this incident.      

As a result of  the ongoing investigation, police have obtained photographs of the suspect.  (See attached images)

Police are asking the public for any information that may assist in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information about this Bank Robbery is urged to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111 extension 4308.
