Registration of "Non-Restricted" Firearms

REQUIREMENT #1

  • The new law requires all firearms owners in Canada to have a valid firearms licence is January 1, 2001.

REQUIREMENT #2

NOTE

  • There are only two forms with which to register firearms.  Both are available at local post offices.  These forms can also be downloaded from the Canadian Firearms Centre (CFC) website.
  • Application to register non-restricted firearms.  (This form is about the size of one-half sheet of paper and has light brown lettering on it).
  • Each application form has it's own unique bar code on each page.  If you are registering more than two firearms:
    • photocopy only the firearm information page as many times as required.  This will ensure you register all your unregistered firearms but pay only one registration fee.
