On January 1, 1996, the Niagara Regional Police Service celebrated their 25th or Silver Anniversary.  The former Chief of Police, J. Grant Waddell, authorized the formation of a male Chorus, which made its debut appearance at the Central Gospel temple in St. Catharines, performing for the dedication of the new Service Colours.

Sir Robert Peel, the founder of modern policing, coined the phrase "The Police are the people and the people are the Police".  This forms the basis of today's Community Policing activities when members of the community come together to assist the Police in their activities throughout the community.  The Male Chorus exemplifies Community Policing when Police Officers, active and retired, come together with Gentlemen from the community to blend their voices and provide a high grade of music to the community.  The chorus members are volunteers who pay their own expenses to perform with this group.

Combined with the extraordinary talents and abilities of Dr. Tom Inglis, a retired Director of music with the School Board, the Chorus performs at a very professional level which has been recognized, not only in the Region of Niagara, but also across the Province of Ontario, by musicians and the public alike.  Currently, there are 44 members in the chorus.

The success of this Community Policing Unit is evident in its popularity.  The Chorus rehearses weekly and performs, on average, weekly.

The Chorus has performed on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for the Police Memorial Service; the Ontario Police Memorial Dedication at Queens Park Toronto; Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto for the Seniors' Jubilee, live on Huntley Street, a national television program; and the 3rd World Rowing.

The Chorus performs locally for Senior Citizen groups, Fairs, Historical Societies and Service Clubs.  CDs are available at every concert.  The Chorus is in demand!
