The Bicycle Patrol Unit of the Niagara Regional Police Service uses bicycles for transportation in the patrol of parks, hydro right of ways, jogging trails, and other areas normally inaccessible to vehicular patrol units.  Aside from using this mode of transportation, Bicycle Patrol Officers perform all of the duties normally performed by patrol officers.

The Bicycle Patrol Unit is seasonal, and is active during warmer months of the year.  It provides a positive and effective police presence at special events and functions organized by various community groups, and offers a directed patrol to problem and high crime areas.
