StreetWorks is an injection drug use and AIDS prevention program. A free and anonymous service, StreetWorks provides materials and education for safer injection as well as for safer sex. Needle exchange service is based on 1:1 exchange. That being said, no one will be turned away from the service because they do not have any used syringes to return.

Exchange services take place in the StreetWorks office located in the AIDS Niagara offices at 111 Church Street, St. Catharines, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closing daily for lunch hour between 12:30 and 1:30.

The StreetWorks Van is available for exchange services Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. StreetWorks staff can be reached by calling the cell phone number (905) 328-6715 between 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on the designated outreach evenings to speak to a staff member directly.

At all other times, clients have the option of leaving a message or calling the AIDS Niagara office and asking to speak to a StreetWorks staff person during regular business hours (905) 984-8684.

StreetWorks serves Niagara Region - we can arrange to meet people where they feel comfortable receiving services - at home, on the street, wherever.

Niagara Regional Police Service

The Niagara Regional Police Service understands the desire of victims to remain anonymous and supports the Bad Date Line in an effort to identify potential serial offenders preying upon victims who they believe will not report the attack to police. The Bad Date line does not subscribe to caller ID and no attempts will be made to identify callers.

It is preferred that victims contact police directly to report an assault so that a proper investigation can be conducted and ensure a predator is removed from the street. The NRPS treats all victims fairly and equitably. If you wish to speak with an officer regarding an assault or receive more information regarding the investigation process, you may contact the Investigative Analysis Unit directly at

(905) 688-4111 Ext. 5160.
